Role purpose
The DevOps engineer will work within a small team to streamline the software development lifecycle to improve developer productivity, delivery speed, and code quality. This role will work closely with development, operations, testing and security teams to identify and resolve pain points and inefficiencies in delivery workflows and environment issues. Key responsibilities include automating delivery processes and maintaining the continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline, along with maintaining the Salesforce environments (Production and non-production).
The DevOps Engineer is a proactive leader who not only collaborates with and provides solutions to development teams but also proactively identifies and resolves potential issues associated with the working environments.
The DevOps Engineer will be required to participate in workshops, working groups and meetings as required to support teams with troubleshooting issues, identifying root causes and supporting or leading the resolution of issues as appropriate.
A cornerstone of this role is to propel development teams towards a peak of DevOPs maturity, assuring a profound comprehension and application of modern DevOps principles and processes. This extends beyond the team to embedding these principles and processes to the wider development teams. In this way, the DevOps Engineer will support the broader organisational context, ensuring a cohesive and streamlined DevOps practice throughout the enterprise.

Key Accountabilities Streamline the software development lifecycle by identifying pain points and productivity barriers
and determining ways to resolve them.
Collaborate closely with development teams to understand their current build and release processes and make recommendations for improvement.
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders, including development, testing, operations, quality assurance and security, to streamline processes.
Provide guidance to development teams to improve performance and operability of the solutions they develop.
Build and maintain the CI/CD pipelines to improve developer productivity, agility and code quality.
Develop and continuously improve automation solutions to enable teams to build and deploy code efficiently and consistently.
Troubleshoot issues related to deployment and Production and non-production environments.
Provide hands-on support for integration-related issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams for swift resolution.
Ensure that systems meet business and customer needs for reliability and availability.
Monitor and manage application performance and service quality, including initial troubleshooting, identification of root cases and issue resolution.
Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to analyze and troubleshoot complex production issues.
Promote DevOps principles and culture across the organization.
Mentor and coach junior-level DevOps engineers.
Collaborate with the teams and stakeholders to plan and manage deployments that contribute items to the overall delivery plan
Use metrics and reporting effectively to aid the leadership team to motivate the team and work with them to continuously increase their performance
Support an environment that promotes continuous improvement, and effective risk and issue identification and management
Operate effectively with virtual, geographically dispersed teams
